Work Process
From first enquiry to delivered documentation — the six steps, and what each one produces.
The most common question from a client working with an outsourced engineer for the first time is not about price or capability. It is: how does this actually work? This is the answer.
Step 01 — Project discussion
You send the project requirements, the existing PLC program, or the technical documentation you have. Partial information is fine at this stage; what matters is enough to understand the machine and the problem.
Step 02 — Technical assessment
We review the PLC and HMI software, the electrical drawings and the scope of the machine, then come back with what we found — including anything that looks like a risk to the schedule. This assessment is free and it is genuinely technical.
Step 03 — Proposal
Scope of work, deliverables, schedule and price, in writing, before anything starts. What is included is listed, and so is what is not. If something cannot be sensibly fixed in advance, it is quoted hourly rather than hidden inside a fixed price.
Step 04 — Engineering
Programming, modification, electrical design or debugging begins. You get progress updates at an agreed interval, and questions go to a named engineer rather than into a shared inbox.
Step 05 — Remote testing
Work is tested against a simulated I/O set on our bench before it reaches your machine, then verified over a remote connection with your fitter on site. Session plans are agreed in advance so the person at the machine always knows what is about to happen.
Step 06 — Delivery
Programs, drawings, backup files and technical documentation are handed over. Native project files, not just PDFs. After delivery there is a defined period during which questions and corrections arising from the work are covered.
